Classic Greater Ember of Fyralath deals less damage??

This reset I just killed Fyrakk on normal difficulty and got a greater ember of fyralath. After I used it the item only dealt roughly 5k damage to me instead of the normal 100k. Not sure if this means anything regarding a higher chance at receiving the legendary or not.Just thought it was odd.
