Resto shaman in ToC and ICC?

Resto shaman is my favourite class and spec in the game, currently I am playing holy paladin and resto shaman equally.Pala overall is a better healer but I find shaman more fun to play, how do resto shamans scale and perform in ToC and especially in ICC? Are still they outclassed that badly by holy palas and disc priests or do they get an improvement with gear? I know that holy palas utility is unmatched but I hope that resto shamans can get better in later phases.
