Classic Speculation about Soar

Many players will be creating Dracthyr whether they're new, returning, or current players. It's the newest race to the game and the expansion flagship race. With so many new Dracthyr, if Blizzard made Soar a regular mount-type spell, not many people would interact with the actual dragons they want us to ride. Much fewer people would spend time in customization for the dragons or might not even take the time to level up dragon riding at all if they're just happy enough with the baseline Soar functionality.Of course, Dracthyr is just one race and literally every single other race would have to interact with the dragon riding system.So here's what I'm thinking. I think they will make it an ability like Running Wild where it's essentially the flying version of it, with a regular mount cast time and all. However, I think this will happen at the end of the expansion. By then, everyone will have gone as far into the dragon riding system as they're realistically going to. And by then, Blizzard will most likely know what direction they're going in with flying in the future. Even if dragon riding isn't expanded to other areas of the world, I feel that Soar will at least have regular flying mount functionality.It does make sense that Blizzard wouldn't want Soar to distract from one of the main features of the expansion, but I also have to assume they wouldn't add dragon riding and Soar and then not expect everyone to want Soar to be more regular use. They must also know the backlash and constant requests they'd get to make Soar more regular if they didn't.Of course, Pterrodax Swoop is just a goblin glider but still has a 15-minute cooldown so this could be completely incorrect... via /r/wow https://ift.tt/GTYhjlf
