Classic First character on Shadowlands. Anyway to bypass quest storyline?

Hello. I recently got back into WoW. I am a level 58 Pally. I enjoy doing dungeons and pvp, almost exclusively, so ive been leveling through tanking instances.I was informed today, that it is mandatory to do the main quests now. I did not know this and have only just finished bastion. It was incredibly tedious and not fun at all, and I am getting no xp for the kills. Is there a way to bypass this aspect of the game?
