How to choose a good EU PvP server? Ashbringer?

I'm currently looking into finding a good Europe PvP server. I looked on Ironforge and according to them the most balanced server is Ashbringer with 3000 people.​Is 3000 people good enough to start playing or should I go with something with more people but less balanced Alliance/Horde ratio?
