Classic Do any competent players actually join guilds that do the invite then whisper thing?

Two friends and I recently decided we’d start fresh on a new server as the opposite faction. We’re all competent players with several AotC’s and CE’s but haven’t decided on a guild yet since we just prepping the new toons. But we constantly get random invites and whispers. Yes I know you can disable them, but does anyone actually join them? I’ve joined them in the past on alts to guild perks, but they’re always cesspool guilds that do nothing.
