Classic Questions about Covenants

Assume that the Shadowlands launch is happening in a month. Ion recently stated that he doesn't want Covenants to be able to be switched around easily, presumably to combat tryharding, but what about classes like Paladins and Druids? Are you just supposed to play the parts of those classes that are good based on your current Covenant and abandon the ones that are bad?
